Getting over being sick sometimes takes time. Especially if your sickness has anything to do with your lungs. You may not be able to breathe clearly, you may not sleep as much, eat as much, and your body feels weaker also.

But a few days ago, I was able to go running again! I had to hold off on it for a few weeks. It was tough on my endurance, speed, and muscles working together. I ran for seven miles, and I wasn’t able to keep up the pace with my timing as best I could, but it was nice to be able to do it again.

I was able however to keep lifting weights in the gym while I began to get well. But I had to watch the amount of weight I was lifting. My muscles were a bit weaker during being sick, and it showed. It effected my stamina and I had to take longer breaks. That’s something we all have to deal with during those times.

But we may have other problems, we claim are reasons why we can’t exercise. Maybe because of us being “too busy” or “already stressed” or “too tired”.

We need though, to make ourselves exercise again for the benefits of it. Really being sick is one thing, but if you are well, you must be doing some kind of physical fitness. For exercising itself boots your immune system, helps you relieve stress, and be more energetic!

We can’t have excuses. Go for a walk, run, lift weights, do aerobics, circuit train, elliptical, yoga or play a sport, etc. There is no reason for you to not be able to do it, even just for half an hour each day. If you can’t find time, make the time for yourself to be healthy.

So get yourself to start it again! Maybe like I did, run a few miles. Tomorrow my workout will be with free weights!
